Job scope… optimising supplied CAD files, supplemental polygon modelling, texturing, lighting, composition and rendering.
We received CAD files for the exterior and most of the interior, although all parts needed cleaning up and optimising. The filters were modelled from scratch using photographic reference.
The original project featured a genuine H13 HEPA filter, with a higher grade H14 and pet options added later. The complete project included 14 different purifier models in multiple colourways, view angles and technical cutaways of the units and exploded images for the HEPA filters.
All the modelling and scenes were built in Modo, using Vray references to import individual models into the main scene. Each reference had material tag and parts setup with animation frames for the different state of each model, such as the complete unit, cutaway reveal, filter and filter deconstruction. Then the main scene was used with render passes to create multiple colour variations and viewpoints without requiring updates to the source models. Rendering was with Vray Next in Modo.

A high level of detail was required for the filters, including realistic textures and structure for the different components.
Texture and lighting setups allowed for LED controls and displays to be switched on or off as required.
Many of the supplied CAD exports required extensive repair work and supplemental modelling. For this larger model we had to model the door hinges, fasteners, wheels in addition to the filter components.
To date we have rendered 14 different Medify purifier models, creating studio images from left, front and right, a technical cutaway showing key internal features, separate images of each filter as well as an exploded option highlighting the unique filter features. In addition many of the units are available in multiple colourways such as white, silver and black.
